Back to Finance Glossary | Previous Page

A cosigner is a person who is required to support the repayment of a loan by a borrower who either has no credit history or has poor credit.

Finding a cosigner may be an option for a person who needs to secure a loan and who may not have the credit to be able to qualify for it on their own.
